Dealing with Ad Rejections

4 steps7:20 long6 rules

This lesson explains how to handle ad rejections when using the 1-25-1 catalog method. It covers three main scenarios: full campaign rejection, partial rejection, and secondary rejection. It also introduces an experimental audio cloaking tool for severe rejection rates and advises launching proven winners in new ad accounts for redundancy and scaling.

Campaign structureInitial structure is 1 campaign, 25 ad sets, 1 ad per ad set (1-25-1) with a minimum budget of $1 per ad set. If a full rejection occurs, test with 1 campaign, 1 ad set, 1 ad. If approved, duplicate the ad set 24 times. Scale winning ads (profitable, 2+ sales) horizontally by launching them in new ad accounts.
Catalogue methodThe catalog contains a white hat image and the actual video. If a campaign is fully rejected, create a new catalog from scratch using a different white hat image but the same video to troubleshoot if the original image or catalog caused the rejection.

Gotchas
“If all of the 25 ads within these ad sets got disapproved, then what I recommend is recreating a new catalog with a different white hat image.”
“If just a few ad sets got rejected... then ignore it. So then just keep running.”
“As soon as I have winners, so meaning profitable ads with at least two sales, I start launching them in new ad accounts.”
Step 100:40 to 01:31

Create a new catalog with a different white hat image and launch a new campaign with one ad set.

To test if the rejection was caused by the original catalog or white hat image rather than the video itself.
Step 201:46 to 02:00

Duplicate the approved ad set 24 times.

To restore the 1-25-1 campaign structure once the new catalog is proven to be approved.
Step 302:35 to 03:18

Ignore partial rejections and continue running the approved ad sets.

Because partial rejections are often just a bug and the remaining ad sets will still spend the budget effectively.
Step 406:21 to 07:09

Launch profitable winning ads in new ad accounts.

To scale horizontally and create backups in case the original ad account gets banned.

[00:00] COACH: Hey guys, in this class I will teach you how to deal with ad rejections. Yes, because remember, I told you with the secret methods you've seen in this course, you reduce the chances by over 90% for sure, but it's still not a 100% guarantee you're never going to get ads rejected. So here in this class, you're going to see what to do when this happens.

[00:20] COACH: So three main scenarios, guys. Three main things that can happen and how to deal with each scenario with ad rejections. So remember the initial structure is 1-25-1. So for every ad, you're going to have one campaign, 25 ad sets, and each ad set you have the same video in the catalog with the white hat image and all the fun stuff you guys already learned.

[00:40] COACH: Now, if all of the ads within the same campaign, so meaning the same video as well, so all of the 25 ad sets and all of the 25 ads within these ad sets got disapproved, then what I recommend is recreating a new catalog, so creating a new catalog with a different white hat image, very important, with a different white hat image, and then launching a new campaign with one ad set and with the new catalog. Right? Same video obviously, because you still want to see if the problem is the video, the real video, or if the problem was the catalog or even the white hat image sometimes, because Facebook is very buggy. Sometimes the algorithm honestly is not very good, it's even disapproving the white hat image, as crazy as it is, but it's true. So test it out.

[01:31] COACH: Then if that new campaign with the new catalog gets rejected again, well, you have to abandon that ad. So that's the second scenario, and just go to the next ad, just create a completely new ad, and probably it's not going to happen often. Right?

[01:46] COACH: If that new campaign with the new catalog but the same video gets approved, then you can duplicate the ad set and duplicate the ad 24 times again to do 1-25-1. Okay? So very simple.

[02:00] COACH: If all the 25 ads with the same video got disapproved, then you have to create a new catalog, a new white hat image with the same video, launch it in a new campaign, just one ad set, one ad, because you're testing to see if it's going to get disapproved again. If it gets disapproved again, you just pause both of them obviously, I mean you're not going to have a choice, and you just abandon that ad and go to the next ad. Right? If it gets approved in that new campaign, perfect, now you can duplicate it 24 times and very likely it's not going to get disapproved again. Likely, not impossible, but very likely. Okay?

[02:35] COACH: Now, third scenario, if just a few ad sets got rejected. So let's say you launch 25 ad sets with the same ads, the same video, right, same catalog, all of that, but only a few of them got rejected. Let's say only five duplicates got rejected. Then ignore it. So then just keep running, wait obviously you're going to have a slightly lower budget, because if you had let's say 25 ad sets with 25 ads with the same video and five of them get disapproved, now you're spending 20 bucks a day and not 25 with the minimum budget of one dollar, if you're using the minimum budget of one dollar obviously in this example. Well then it was just a bug, just ignore it, don't do anything with them, and just keep running that ad, literally. Right?

[03:18] COACH: So these are the three scenarios. These are the three scenarios. But if all of them got disapproved, please create the catalog from scratch again, another one with another white hat image and the same video to launch it in a new campaign, one ad set, one ad, and only after it gets approved, if it does, then duplicate it 24 times. Okay? Very important.

[03:38] COACH: And there's a secret experimental approach. Now guys, I'm going to be straight...
[03:40] COACH: Another approach, now guys, I'm going to be straightforward. For 99% of you, please just ignore this slide. Honestly. I just recommend this slide for two types of people. The first type of person is the person who, even though he's not getting a lot of ads rejected, they are scaling. So if they are scaling and they're getting a few ads rejected, sometimes they have enough, honestly, they have enough money as well and enough time to just invest in an experimental approach that could decrease their chances of getting ads disapproved slightly. Okay?

[04:11] COACH: And the second type of person for which this is good is if you're getting very high rates of rejections, which is also possible. So let's say you're running super aggressive ads and for some reason your catalog is not protecting you as it typically does, and you're getting over, I would say over a third of your new ads are getting rejected. So let's say every three new ads you create, at least one is getting rejected, then it's also worth to test that.

[04:37] COACH: For most of you guys, please don't do this. So 99% of you, because it's experimental, it's still not 100% tested, and as with the catalog as well, it's not 100% bulletproof. But so far, this is a very advanced strategy. We've covered advanced strategies, but that we have tested thousands of times. This strategy, we haven't tested this enough to be part of the first part of the course. We've tested this a bit, so we know it can be somewhat effective. We don't know how effective as well.

[05:05] COACH: But these are audio cloaking tools. So these are tools like maskite.co is the name of the website, which is one example of these tools, that try to have Facebook not recognize the audio of your script. And this reduces the chances of getting ads rejected as well, right?

[05:25] COACH: But once again guys, I would only use this as an absolute last resource, just for really advanced people mostly. So typically it's just better if you get an ad rejected twice, both in the original campaign and in the new campaign with the new catalog, with the new white hat image, so often it's just better to move on to the next ad. Okay?

[05:44] COACH: So conclusion, if you get an ad rejected, don't freak out. Rejections can still happen. It is part of the game. Also just part of the mistakes that Facebook can make as well. Catalogs, which are proven, but also experimental advanced approaches reduce the chances of you getting rejected, but not to zero. So there's still a chance that you get rejected sometimes. It happens. We're always testing more methods to keep reducing those chances. If we find one that's as good as catalog, be assured we're going to have a whole class step-by-step on a new method, if we find that method.

[06:21] COACH: And also guys, very important, that's also why as soon as you have winners, meaning profitable ads with at least two sales, I start launching them in new ad accounts. We're going to see this in the next modules where we're going to cover even more advanced strategies. But just so you know, as soon as I have winners, so meaning profitable ads with at least two sales, I start launching them in new ad accounts. Also because I'm going to have more ad accounts, so if I lose one ad account because of rejections, I'm going to have other ones. Also it's a way to scale, because you're scaling the same ad in different ad accounts. Okay? It's just like horizontal scaling, but instead of duplicating the campaign, in a way you're duplicating the ad account, but just with winners. Please don't do this if you just have a good cost per checkout, for example. Just do this if the ad is profitable and ideally with at least two sales.

[07:09] COACH: Okay guys? So that was it. That's how you deal with ad rejections. If you haven't had ads rejected yet, please just ignore this class because this is very advanced just for you guys who are having this issue. See you in the next one.
