AD 07 - Hook1

AD 07 - Hook1.mp4

Set: 22-09 · folder: AD 07 · 145 s · A highly structured, AI-dubbed VSL ad that uses conspiracy angles and pseudo-science to sell a weight-loss 'ritual' to women over 40.

Hook

• Spoken: The endocrinologists in Hamburg will hate me for revealing this
• On screen: DIE ENDOKRINOLOGEN IN HAMBURG (THE ENDOCRINOLOGISTS IN HAMBURG)
• Visual: Split screen showing a woman talking in a kitchen on top, and four identical young Asian women dancing in school uniforms on the bottom.
• Camera: Handheld selfie (top), static tripod (bottom) · first cut at 9 s · type: Conspiracy / Localized callout
• Pattern interrupt: Bizarre split-screen pairing a serious medical claim with a TikTok dance.
• Why it stops the scroll: The visual mismatch creates confusion, while the localized text ('Hamburg') and conspiracy angle ('will hate me') drive curiosity.

Feel

• Score (1 amateur, 10 polished): 3. Uses stolen/stock footage dubbed with an obvious AI voice. The split-screen hook is bizarre. It feels like a low-effort affiliate marketing ad.
• Organic because: The original footage is shot selfie-style in a real kitchen, and the UGC clips look like authentic TikToks.
• Controlled: The script structure (VSL format), the aggressive captioning style, and the strategic placement of B-roll.

Editing

• 32 cuts, avg 4.5 s (shortest 1, longest 10). Fast-paced, driven entirely by the voiceover. Frequent jump cuts within the talking head segments remove all pauses.
• Transitions: Hard cuts · captions: {"present": true, "style": "Bold sans-serif, white text, blue highlight boxes, center screen, word-by-word", "highlight_colour": "Blue"} · music: None · sfx: None
• Devices: Split-screen hook, UGC weight loss B-roll (loose waistbands), Word-by-word highlighted captions

Voice

• {"who": "On-camera narrator (dubbed)", "apparent_age": "35-45", "gender": "Female", "accent_or_region": "Standard German", "tone": "Urgent, authoritative, conspiratorial", "pace": "Fast", "ai_or_human": "AI. The voice is perfectly enunciated but lacks natural emotion, and the lip-sync is completely mismatched with the video."}

Shots

Persuasion

• Problem: Stubborn fat, double chin, feeling invisible after 40.
• Villain: Endocrinologists, weight loss injection industry, stomach surgeries.
• Mechanism: Reactivating the body's natural repair system (GLP-1 and GIP hormone factory).
• Recipe / ritual: Golden oats with the right probiotic.
• Proof: Elite patients, South Korean trend, 40,000 women, anecdotal story about a janitor.
• CTA (2:18): Click the learn more button now · on screen: Woman talking to camera in kitchen
• Beats: 0:00 Hook: Conspiracy & Local Callout -> 0:21 Villain: Injections & Surgeries -> 0:27 Mechanism: Hormone Factory -> 0:40 Solution: The Ritual -> 0:47 Social Proof: Patient Results -> 1:12 Urgency: Industry is Angry -> 1:37 First CTA -> 1:59 Vision: Happy in the Mirror -> 2:18 Final CTA

Replicate

• Strong localized hook ('Endocrinologists in Hamburg').
• Framing the solution as a 'ritual' rather than a product.
• Using UGC clips showing loose waistbands as visual proof.
• Bold, word-by-word captions with highlight boxes.

Avoid

• Terrible AI lip-syncing (it destroys trust immediately).
• Confusing split-screen hooks that have no relation to the topic.
• Overly exaggerated claims (janitor thinking she's her own daughter).
